Project and Submission Requirements

Participants are encouraged to build anything from apps to browser extensions, with the primary goal of using AI to enhance accessibility, engagement, or learning outcomes for K-12 students.

Submissions should include a project description, a demonstration of how the AI-related API was utilized, and an explanation of the ethical considerations addressed during development.

  • Submit documentation covering Problem/Target AudienceProcessSolution, and Ethical Statement.

Prizes

$3,000 earmarked in total prizes. Specific breakdowns TBA. 

Judging Criteria and Winner Selection

  • Problem/Target Audience: Has a clear problem that is relevant to people today, and addresses defined target audience. This problem should be relevant to K-12 education, and target a specific group of students.
  • Process: Participants use some kind of AI-related tool, whether an API or ChatGPT to develop/brainstorm/code their tool.
  • Solution: Solves problem by creating a solution that is accessible to the target audience, easy to use, visually appealing product.
  • Ethics: Demonstrates deep understanding of how to engage critical thinking skills while using AI, ethics are considered. (eg. bias, hallucination, age-appropriateness). This innovation emphasizes responsible technology use.
